Geographical location and contact: Chandpur Sadar, East-Faridganj, South-Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur district, on the west- Shariatpur district- Hijla upazila on the north.

Upazila background: It is known that, a complex surveyor named Hembabu was appointed to resolve the problem of the boundary between Maulani Thana of Gosairhat and Barisal in Shariatpur district with the Himaimchar upazila. If he is capable of resolving the complexity of this border with efficiency, then the name is named after him, according to him. It is known from the sources of another source that Vikramapura, a ham babu, had a small zamindari parguna in this area and this area was known by its name. Later in 1984 Haemarchchar Upazila was elevated.
